San Onofre State Beach is split into three units — Bluffs, San Mateo Campground, and the historic Old Man's surf break — and stretches more than three miles along the Pacific. Above it, the twin domes of the retired San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station mark the border with the Marine Corps base.
