Capistrano Beach — locals just call it Capo Beach — is the northern annex of Dana Point wedged between Doheny State Beach and San Clemente's North Beach. Pacific Coast Highway runs the full length of the neighborhood, and the gated Beach Road community south of Capistrano Beach County Park is one of the only stretches of true oceanfront homes in Orange County. Doheny State Beach and its adjacent Doheny Village district anchor the north end, with the San Juan Creek Trail feeding down from San Juan Capistrano and Mission San Juan through the wetlands to the surf.
