Forster Ranch is the older inland San Clemente master-plan built above Avenida Pico in the 1980s and 1990s, running from the ridgeline at Avenida La Pata down through Forster Ranch Community Park to the Los Molinos business area. The neighborhood divides into distinct tracts — Highland Light, Reserve East and West, Bella Vista, Marbella at Forster — each on its own hillside loop. Forster Ranch Community Park at 28 acres is the neighborhood center with a full sports-field complex, and Steed Park adds the skate park and dog park a half-mile away. Bonito Canyon Park and the Ridgeline Trail follow the canyon down to the border with Talega. Truman Benedict Elementary, Bernice Ayer Middle, and San Clemente High School anchor the school calendar and drive graduation and prom-related event volume every spring. The Forster Ranch Ridgeline runs above the community with view corridors to Catalina on a clear day. Avenida La Pata connects north to Rancho Mission Viejo and Ladera Ranch, and Avenida Pico drops straight down to the North Beach Metrolink station and the 5 Freeway.
