Rancho Santa Margarita — RSM to locals — is a canyon-mouth master-planned city set against the base of Saddleback Mountain, with the Cleveland National Forest and Trabuco Canyon opening at its northeast edge. The RSM Lake, or Lago Santa Margarita, is a 12-acre man-made lake ringed by the private Beach Club that anchors resident life with paddleboarding, a heated pool, and the summer Friday-night concert series. The Bell Tower Community Center is the civic core and the city's largest indoor event space.
