Crystal Cove State Park at the north end preserves 3.2 miles of undeveloped coastline plus the Historic District cottages, and Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park drops down from Top of the World for one of the best inland-to-ocean hikes in the county. Heisler Park, Victoria Beach with its Pirate Tower, Thousand Steps Beach, and Table Rock are the tide-pool and photography anchors. There is no Metrolink service — the closest station is Irvine or Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo — and OCTA routes 1 and 89 plus the free Laguna Beach Trolley cover PCH.
