Corona del Mar — CdM — is the seaside village neighborhood of Newport Beach, laid out on a grid of numbered avenues stepping down from Pacific Coast Highway to the sea. Big Corona at the mouth of Newport Harbor is one of the widest, calmest swimming beaches in Orange County, backed by the cliffs of Inspiration Point and Lookout Point above. There is no rail station; OCTA route 1 runs PCH and the free Corona del Mar Business Improvement District trolley loops the village in summer. Big Canyon Country Club and Pelican Hill Resort — technically Newport Coast — handle the major private-event calendar. Sol Agave caters cliffside-home rehearsal dinners on Ocean Boulevard, Sherman Gardens wedding welcome parties, and Big Canyon and Balboa Bay Club member events on outside-caterer nights.
